ABOUT OCALA
PHOTOGRAPHY
GROUP
Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Ocala.

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Ocala Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

Kaley is a knowledgeable and engaging instructor. I was able to test out a new prime lens in this particular environment. Both Kaley and the class had many helpful suggestions. These are fun and informative events. I highly recommend.

My wife and I really enjoyed the style of the class. The experiential learning style was outstanding. We took over 200 photographs. Kaylee was knowledgeable, friendly, and provided both good technical advice and composition tips. Her passion for photography was obvious.

This was an easy walking photo field trip with a knowledgeable leader. Kaley knew where to look for birds that live in the park, and she knew the sections that attract the birds. I didn't feel I was being managed but rather that I had found a kindred spirit in photography.

I've been doing installments of a Post Apocalypse Series as a part of my creative journey and this photo was one of those photos. Taken at a remote location at an abandoned phosphate mine. I like to leave viewers with an emotional response of ambiguity and reality that may exist.

I just got a new camera and lens combo (Z9 & 180-600mm), but have been too busy to get out and really put it through it's paces. So I ventured out into my back yard to see if I could find a willing subject to shoot some test photos. I know the new camera is great, but want make sure the new lens is sharp enough to satisfy me. I hope to use it on a couple of "bucket-list" trips I hope to take in the next few years. There was not much activity, but I did spot this miniature dinosaur peeking out

This photo was a part of the first roll of film I ever shot. I had just gotten my first SLR, and as a zookeeper at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, I thought it would be fun to start with some portraits of all my favorite critters. Scarlet the Red Fox was very curious about the camera and ended being the perfect model. Minolta X-700, expired Kodak Ultramax 400
